Success Story: Healthcare Brokerage Event MEDICA 2015

Last week, from 16 to 19 November 2015, Düsseldorf was again the central meeting point of the international health business. 4,952 exhibitors from 70 countries were participating in the MEDICA 2015. Almost 80 percent of the MEDICA 2015 registrations are international. After Germany, the greatest booking demand has come from Italy, China, the USA, the United Kingdom and France, the Netherlands and Turkey.

At the occasion of MEDICA 2015 (www.medica.de) ZENIT GmbH, together with the Healthcare Sector Group of the Enterprise Europe Network and the project Fit for Health 2.0 organised a Healthcare Brokerage Event with the aim to assist enterprises, universities and research institutions in the Health domain to find partners in Europe for product development, manufacturing, licensing and distribution agreements, joint ventures or other types of partnership.

More concrete, the brokerage event placed particular emphasis on the efficient valorization of research results. In this sense, free participation was offered to companies & RTD performers that display promising health research outcomes in terms of commercial exploitation and new business development. Entrepreneurs, SMEs & researchers who seek strategic partners to bring their products and solutions to the market explored opportunities for business creation, financial support and further public-private research collaboration.

Jörg Scherer, CEO of Eurice and representing the European IPR Helpdesk was among the renowned experts, who offered one-to-one consultations for over 380! event participants. It was the first but definitely not the last time that Eurice was involved in the implementation of this event as Jörg Scherer pointed out: “Our experience in the one-to-one-meetings was very positive. Besides the high general interest shown in the event, I had very constructive meetings with motivated and well-prepared partners”.
