Growing wise, but not old – Eurice turned sweet 16
June 16, 2016: Team Meeting and Anniversary Celebrations in Berlin
16 years of successfully accompanying European research projects from start to finish, 2 years of our branch office in Berlin and the recent launch of a new representation in Brussels – Enough reasons for the complete Saarbrücken team to hit the road and visit the colleagues at the Berlin office.
200 blue and white balloons and a giant birthday cake
The Berlin team prepared a warm welcome to their colleagues at the Eurice premises in the heart of the capital. Welcome speeches by Eurice founder Jörg Scherer and the head of the Berlin office Dr. Claudia Schacht outlined the milestones and developments Eurice has gone through since the foundation in 2000. Especially for the 8 team members who joined the Eurice family recently, the trip was a good opportunity to get to know the Berlin team and premises, but also to see where Eurice comes from and gain insight into the big picture of a successful and unique European project office. And most of all, it was about having a good time!
Football, Berliner Weiße and a rainy boat trip
Once the Saarbrücken group had finished a “Berlin quiz” prepared by the hosts, the whole Eurice team spent the evening the traditional way: Watching Germany play in the European football championship in a traditional German beer garden. The original “Eurice 16” football jerseys were the suitable accessory for a team event during the Euro 2016 and a boss who is crazy about football. The next day, even the rainy face of the capital couldn’t spoil the good mood on a Spree boat trip. However, there still was a drop of bitterness for the visitors: Having to say goodbye to the Berlin team at the end.
One look back and one ahead – We keep moving!
A huge thank you goes to our hosts in the Berlin office and everybody who contributed to a wonderful and memorable team event. Last but not at all least, a great applause to everyone who helped to make the past 16 years a story of excellent team work and successful project implementation – Here’s to the next 16!
