Saarland’s Excellence Celebrates ERC’s 10th Anniversary
For over a decade, the European Research Council (ERC) has been supporting excellent scientists and their most creative ideas, funding cutting-edge research in all fields and attracting the world’s best researchers to Europe.
On 20 November 2017, Saarland’s own award-winning researchers came together to celebrate the ERC’s 10th Anniversary and its impact on Europe’s research landscape. In their opening words, Dr Susanne Reichrath from the State Chancellery Saarland and Prof. Manfred Schmitt, President of Saarland University, congratulated the grantees and thanked them for their achievements. Together with ERC Scientific Council Member Prof. Kurt Mehlhorn from the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, they also agreed that Saarland’s promising young scientists must be further encouraged and supported to apply for ERC grants in the future.
As co-organiser of the event, Eurice was present to help facilitate the networking and poster session which followed a series of very interesting and inspiring ERC grant presentations. During this session, participants had the chance to mingle with the grantees and find out more about their ERC work. Our team was also on site to answer any questions about the proposal procedure and offer additional information about Horizon 2020.
When it comes to strategic planning and best practice solutions, we offer a range of ERC proposal services. Until now, Eurice has successfully supported 30 ERC applications - including all types of ERC Grants – amounting to a total of EUR 60 Mio EC funding.
