Transforming Diagnosis and Treatment for Ulcerative Colitis and Atopic Dermatitis: IMI Project ImmUniverse Releases Animated Clip
ImmUniverse, the European research project investigating diagnosis and treatment options for patients living with ulcerative colitis and atopic dermatitis, has just released an animated video clip on the approach and goals of the project. The short animation aims to introduce the project in an easily accessible and entertaining format to the interested public.
The clip is available on the ImmUniverse project website and on YouTube. Please feel free to watch and share the video or embed the video link.
In very close collaboration with the ImmUniverse communication committee, Eurice played a central role during the production of this animated clip and managed the entire workflow with the selected production company.
The ImmUniverse Road to Success So Far
The project was launched in January 2020 with a total of 26 international partners consisting of academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, patient organisations and specialised SMEs. Since then, the partners have worked persistently to progress in developing new and innovative options to diagnose and treat the two immune-mediated inflammatory diseases ulcerative colitis and atopic dermatitis.
The first project year was strongly impacted by the challenging conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. This meant that, in particular, certain clinical aspects of the project activities had to be postponed while the medical experts prioritised caring for and treating COVID patients. Nevertheless, essential milestones were reached, such as the enrolment of patients in the project’s clinical studies and the set-up of common standards for sample inclusion, handling, extraction, transport and quality control. Further, ethics approval for in vitro studies was obtained to test the LIPUS- enabled gut liquid biopsy devices to allow identification of the OPTIMAL ultrasound parameters to trigger the desired bioeffect.
