Shining a Light on IBD: Breaking Taboos Together This World IBD Day
Today is World IBD Day — and we are not staying silent.
More than 10 million people around the world live with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), yet stigma and silence still surround something as natural as going to the bathroom. This year’s theme, “IBD Has No Borders: Breaking Taboos, Talking About It,” reminds us that awareness knows no limits — and neither does innovation.
At EURICE, we are proud to play a role in advancing IBD research across Europe and beyond. By actively driving forward the five EU-funded projects 3TR, ImmUniverse, INTERCEPT, miGut-Health and PerPrev-CID we are:
- Improving early detection and disease prevention
- Driving the development of personalised, non-invasive treatment strategies
- Connecting patients, clinicians and researchers to reshape the future of IBD care

- miGut-Health is mapping how nutrition, genetics and the microbiome influence gut health
- PerPrev-CID is using data-driven tools to catch IBD early and stop it before it starts
