What the project is about
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are two chronic inflammatory diseases that lack risk prediction and early preventive strategies. The European research project PerPrev-CID seeks to address this gap by developing early diagnostic methods and innovative assessment tools. Through analysing clinical and molecular data of patients and at-risk individuals, the project will identify early markers and relapse predictors, while also creating digital monitoring tools like health apps and wearables. Additionally, a proof-of-concept study will test the effectiveness of a nutritional intervention targeting the tryptophan pathway. Lastly, the project aims to advance patient-centred research and clinical practice by involving patients as active stakeholders.
